Hi Joseph

Unfortunately it is illegal to buy or sell these any more in Britain, although you can own them. Please send me a PM if you want more information.

Is it legal to carry one in a vehicle for example ?
Or is it legal to use one in a self defence situation in your home ?

Vehicle - illegal

Home (with reasonable force) - legal

Hi Simon

Ross has it in one; it crept under the radar this time last year as an adjunct to another Parliamentary Bill. I don't remember the final Act.

You are quite kosher with them at home but if you bought one of the two you mention for sale then you can't sell them.........you can't even legally even lend it to the wife..........

Statutory Instrument 2004 No. 1271
The Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) (Amendment) Order 2004

Came into force 5th June 2004.

From the explanatory note:
"The Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order 1988 specified descriptions of weapons to which section 141 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 applies. This Order adds the weapons the stealth knife and straight, side-handled or friction-lock truncheons, to the list of specified weapons contained in the 1988 Order."

Puts them in the same legal bracket as balisongs, autos et al.

Thanks Ross, Danzo and Fraser.

Not wanting to hijack Joseph's thread, but for crying out loud!!! I'm getting a little fed up with having my life "banned"!

Is it telescopic?

And are telescopic telescopes legal?

And what if they are steel with the lenses removed?

:D

Can't you just sell them to the police? :D

Thats all folks!

This is BritishBlades, if Joseph wants as ASP, he'll have to advertise on a suitable forum for one, this is not the one for him.
