Just received THIS (http://www.maxpedition.com/product/backpack/0503_falcon/0503b_01.jpg) last Friday, it came from JOE (http://www.extremeoutdoorgear.co.uk/) . The pack took a long while to get here (Ordered the end of March) however this wasn’t Joe’s fault, Maxpedition were out of stock of the black Falcon themselves, and Joe said I could choose another colour or change my order if I wanted so I can’t complain about the service.

The pack itself is very well constructed; the finishing on all seams is great. It consists of 4 well set out main pockets:
Main - 18” * 9.5” * 4.75”
Secondary - 16” * 8” * 3”
Upper Front - 4” * 7” * 2.5”
Lower Front - 10” * 7” * 2.5”
Total capacity - 1520 Cubic Inches / 25 Litres. Also there is a compartment on the back to hold a 72oz Bladder, a secondary bladder may be inserted into either the main or secondary compartments. There are also various smaller pockets inside the main compartments.
The pack is designed to be modular, giving versatility to attach any of the smaller Maxpedition gear (with the aid of malice clips) to the various webbing loops that cover the outside of the pack.

There is a carry handle on the top of the pack as well as the ergonomic shoulder straps with 1.25” webbing, with waist belt, which offer very comfortable and versatile carry options.

The compression straps, around the outside of the bag, are good for keeping the pack as small as possible.

The Falcon is my new daypack for work, carrying my laptop and accessories and various other gear: Inova T4, Camera, Mini-Disc Player, PSK etc. The laptop, Power supply and CD wallet fit perfectly into the secondary compartment with room to spare. The upper front pocket easily holds my mini-Disc player and various minidisks, while the lower front pocket comfortably holds: Camera, SAK, graphic calculator, couple of pens and markers, small PSK.
I am not using the Falcon to anywhere near its full potential of carry ability, the main compartment is empty simply because I ran out of stuff to put in it :( .

My only complaint is the very limited access to the compartments when the top compression strap is used  , so for quick access pocket I’ve ordered a mini-roly-poly.

All in all, I'm very pleased by the size, versatility, construction and value that the Falcon offers, it will go well with my M2 and M4 pouches, and I would recommend the Falcon to anyone 8) .

Great review Dan, I've been trying to persuade myself not to buy one of these for a while. Youve made it a lot harder.
