Any CZ shooters on here ?

I was lawrence but moved it on, CZ452 varmint in .22, but the biggest improvement to accuracy was the riflebasix trigger kit. Transformed the rifle completely :)

I shoot a .22 varmint myself, 16" version.

If your not a shooter already then you probably won't "need" one for vermin control so best thing to do is go along to a club and see what they have to offer.

Just had a google and West London shooting school actually have a .22 range. Will call them up tomorrow. Used to shoot with a pre charged .22 air rifle but that was sold due to London not being a great place to use it :-(

Did you pick up my pm regarding the sheath??

I've got a .22 452 'style' bolt action and just love shooting it. It's got a Bushnell 6x24x40 scope and Sak moderator and has never let me down. I like the actions and build of them too.

Nice, what one ?

Two tone : matte nickel coloured body with matte black slide - all steel construction. It's in fact a CZ75B (with the rounded hammer instead of the spur hammer and with the firing pin block safety), it's also equiped with Hogue finger grooved wrap around grips. A very reliable handgun and a fine shooter.

Ditto. I used to use and teach this in competition and service, amongst others obviously. Cracking shooter.

Nice, I have shot a regular 75, 75 compact, 75 IPSC, 75 SP-01 Tactical and an 85 - I really liked the IPSC's

I don't do competition, pure recreational shooting in a 25m lines equipped club.
My favourite is still my Olympic Arms customized by Schuetzen Pistol Works 6" Big Deuce in .45ACP (again a duo tone) that's a very, very nice shooter ;) :) :)

I currently shoot for pest control:
Tactical Solutions AR22LT (AR15) in .22lr
Anshutz 1417ZG in .22lr
CZ452 in .17hmr
Beretta Extrema2 S1 12g
And for game:
1963 Charles Rosson 12g BLNE which I've owned since I was 15, my first firearm.

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc82/rancidbadger/DSC00929.jpg
Not quite current: the Mossberg, Beretta & CZ have all been moved on, but the Rosson's there.

Thank you.

I'll have to take some more up to date photo's as it' been somewhat fettled since the last pic: it's now fitted out with an Eotech 4x Magnifier on a FTS mount (I ditched the Gen3 m onocular as I couldn't get on with it), Timney match trigger, YHM lighweight quad-rail forend & a FAB Defence T-Pod foregrip (doubles as a retractable bipod).

I've stripped off the lamp (Olight M21) at the moment to save weight, but that'll be going back on now that the nights are drawing in.

Oh & as well as the 8 25rnd mags, I've also got a 50rnd drum too... Yeeha! :shooter:

Nooooooooo, 50rnd drum ? line up some water melons, tin cans, plazzy bottles of water, coconuts etc and lets have some fun. I really really want one, any ideas where I can make some enquiries ?

In the UK, you've got 3 main options for an AR15: Tactical Solutions, Spikes Tactical or BAR.

TacSol & Spikes are imported & assembled by Wayne Titterton @ www.nwcustomparts.com , he also imports Sigs & Colts I believe too, but these are not genuine AR's - more lookee-likee

If you really want a tack driver, contact Mark Bradley @ http://www.bradleyarms.com/default.html , Mark will build you a Bradley Arms AR15 to you exact specification.

AR's are like the Lego of the firearms world - so many people make parts for them which are all interchangeable & with a very small number of tools you can do most work on them yourself. I'm no gun-plumber but I've changed my own stock, pistol grip, forend, polished the bolt & bolt carrier etc.

You can easily spend thousands on an AR - & thats not including ther original rifle! My basic TacSol was about £800, but in it's current guise it probably stands me at closer to £2500.

A really good resourse for AR's is ARFCOM - http://www.ar15.com/ , its an American site but there's not much on there which isn't covered.

ooooohhhh getting excited now, spoke to Wayne at NW custom in Manchester, got my appointment for Wednesday morning to go see him. Spoke to firearms licensing yesterday and mine is a complicated one. I have a Sako quad in 22 wmr and a CZ in 22lr both of course bolt action, I then reqested and was awarded a variation for the 22lr barrel for my Quad, as I was putting a better scope on the Quad and wanted it for long range bunnies with 22lr and then for long range crows etc I would use the 22 WMR barrel. I want to keep the CZ, of that there is no doubt, but I have never ever fired a round thru the quad 22lr barrel and so thought I would get rid, firearms are quite happy for me to dispose of the 22lr barrel as a free variation for a 22lr semi-auto and more hopefully an AR15 type from Wayne. I will put an ad in the right section but if there is any interest in a new boxed Sako .22lr barrel, drop me a line.

Ouch, ouch and ouch again..... hit my thumb full on with a 5lb lump hammer whilst resting on a stone wall. Well metaphorically speaking I suppose, but I wish I had actually done it before I took the advice from Rancid Badger. Hell fire, took a trip to NW Custom Parts today to see Wayne. I was on my way to Manchester to pick some other bits up and called Wayne to see if I could see him whilst out there and he duly accomodated, now I know why. It is impossible to go into his shop/workshop without salivating to the point you need a bib, and I had gone with a spendthrift mindset from the beginning but it took about 2 minutes to dissolve. Needless to say I went 3 times over the budget and he is building me one of these in 22lr.
http://www.lumalee.co.uk/images/spikes1.jpg

Gorgeous as they are, and fun to shoot and own, in the semi-standard version as above photo they are best part of a months wages for me, but you see you cant just have box standard can you, naaaa, add the moderator, forend with picatinny rails, lightweight barrel, and aimpoint, 4 mags and well I've been to see my mortgage advisor this afternoon, thats all I am saying.
Am I looking forward to this in 4 weeks, oh God yes, what will I do if the wife finds out how much I have spent, nothing coz she is married to some other poor soul now, but you know we are only here once and theres no guarantee on how long our existence will be, so beggar it I paid my deposit and in 4 weeks I gonna have me some fun.

Still not selling my CZ though. ;)

I've a CZ452 Varmint in .17HMR, with a RifleBasix trigger, a Leupold VXIII 4.5-14x40 with Varmint Hunter reticle and a JetZ moderator. The most fun rifle from all that I own! Has accounted for countless squirells, rabbits and 2 foxes (not too keen on shooting them with the Hummer...). For the money one cannot go wrong: shoots .5 inch all day and is good out to 200 yards. The best bit: it was about half the price of the scope!

best wishes,

Finman

Im in the process of applying for my cert at the moment. The land is sorted, cabinet is sorted, I have chosen the calibre (.17hmr and .22lr) now just need to chose the rifle. Im well down the road at looking into CZ 452 range. I love the look at the thumb hole stocks, has anybody shoot one?

The only CZ I have left is a real nice CZ52. But I do not have a photo of it. It sure makes a nice report with a flame. While at the range folks always turn to see what it is when it goes off.

The new CZ512 Semi-Auto, looks nice, dont know about performance yet, but the trade bumf seems to say it will handle all .22 loads inc subs, supposedly balanced well due to having a polymer receiver and also available in .22WMR, that could be handy.
