Hello guys,
just wanted to add some meat to the bones of the new style Army issue thermos Fask/mug.
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/370346392034?ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&rvr_id=176257635530&crlp=1_262531_281231&UA=%3F*I8&GUID=991f284012c0a0e20563f473ffa07055&mt_id=635&query=%7Bquery%7D&fitem=370346392034&linkin_id=8060231&kw=%7Bquery%7D&ff4=262531_281231
lets start with the old issue type.
the major problem was the liquid got cols very quickly, probable causes; poor quality manufacture, worn seals and that pathetic screw off top (a really bad idea-what can you get in there? sugar liquifise due to heat moisture, possible room for 1 tea bag!!) :D more on this later on!!!

now the new type is a different kettle of fish.
seems better build quality, considering the majority of the guys would buy there own from survuval shops etc, purely for the better build quality.I bought my 5th one whilst at the Brecon beacons in the middle of winter and boy did she become a God Send.
The major draw back is the one i have is fully black coated,,great tactically but like anything else for the Army, you lose it ya need a metal detector to find the damb thing...so what i do is polish off the black coating and inscribe my name and a few designs on it.....still doesn't stop the Cleptomaniacs getting there hands on it...like magpies they are.lastly that blasted top screw off lid very top....get rid of it and increase the thermal value,if some one has to store anything in it then they are not prepared themselves correctly....
Ok before the boffins get onto me!;) inside the screw off lid is the means of pressure relieve,in the old ones or if you do not occasionally clean this when you open the lid ya going to get the hot liquid all over your hands.telling the young guys its for an emergency tea bag coffee or sugar seems to do the trick, bless em.
so as usual to end on a good note, last night at 1610hrs i warmed the flask then made a cuppa, but then forgot where i had put it,i located it 18 hours later and low and behold it was still warm.i think it would of maybe's pushed the 18.5 mark before you go urghhhhhhh and throw it away.i'd say 19-20 hours max if you do not include your milk unless that is boiled aswell.
so overall a top bit of kit.
Height:19cm
Width: 7cm
capacity: 0.4L
Colours: Black coated is what they give now,but no doubt other colurs will be out such as Desert!!
thanks for looking,
Bri
