This morning I received my Speedy Sharp.
Handy pocket sized sharpening tool.
This is a small sized sharpening tool with a sharpening edge and a honing edge,
tried it on a few blades and results look promising
I can honestly say the sharpening edge seems to do very little but the honing edge does wonders, literally appearing to shed a small layer of metal off the edge,
Simply run it over the edge of the blade and handy for use in the field where a quick edge is needed
Seems fairly expensive but can be had for a bargain from ebay
Got mine for £8 all in,
ill get some pics later

Sounds like one of these:

They're quite difficult to find in the UK, so ebay's probably your best bet. There are a few online suppliers but chances are none of them will ship to Britain without charging over the odds for it.
Interesting to see how it performs though, have you done any cutting tests yet Lee?

Those things are downright evil... When they say "peels the steel", they aren't kidding. They tear steel off very aggressively; there's no way I'd use that on *any* knives I own.

I agree. But try one on a Firesteel. Most wonderfully sparkful, Sahib!

I bought one off ebay, for a cpl of quid, they chew steel, literally you have a pile of fillings, and a 'really course edge on your blade. My advice to you would be to use it like i have to sharpen my old kitchen knives, and garden tools, but you will regret using it on any of your 'nice' knives. :)
They have something *very* similar in Lidl at the moment for 99p I think.
