This is a demo of the measuring jig we use. The dimensions of the knives are well known and are borrowed from the ABS test knife.

Is the handle restricted to 2" wide as well or not? I always assumed it was but not sure now.

No. As long as the whole knife doesn't exceed 15" OAL the handle can be dropped below the line of the blade, be wider than the blade etc etc.
