A short review for Corso and anyone who is interested in this nice little matchcase.

This is an exact reproduction from original 1900 patent.

It’s indeed made in China. The quality looks very good.

Waterproof nickel plated brass construction.

It measures 6,3 cm closed. Almost same length with a small Bic lighter.
Diameter is 2,3 cm (base) and 2 cm (body).

To open it you hold the two knurled areas (edge and body) and unscrew it. It’s that simple.

I filled the case with 27 diamond strike anywhere matches with the green head which are extra thick. The matches where not very tight inside the case and it was very easy to take one out.

I assume that if you have the good old redheaded matches you can put inside the case even more.

Before you ask, I bought the matches from the US. It’s hard to find them in Europe and I think they are not exactly legal in some countries. Reason given is that they can ignite because of the friction between them. Nonsense.
On the other side everyone can buy strike anywhere matches from other brands like Swan Vesta and England's Glory. Confusing.
Diamond matches are just stronger and burn better.

Anyway, back to the matchcase.

There is an elastic seal to make the case waterproof (see pics).

The body can be used as a strike surface.

Hope you found the review useful.

Good review Harry. Have you tried to submerge it in water to see how well it works on the watertight front?

It says China only on the box and on the little sticker. I posted a pic showing this.
But nowhere in the case says China.

And here is the water.

As expected the case does not float.
I let it there for quite a few minutes.
There were no bubbles, no water signs on the black seal and no water inside.
So it works as advertised.

The well known plastic (mainly orange) matchcases with the little mirror inside etc do float and that’s a serious advantage but the Marbles case is COOL.
Additionally the plastic cases cost less than the half.
Not that the Marbles is expensive. It costs £5.95.

I forgot to mention that it can make a nice and cheap survival capsule, a pill-case, money-case etc.
