I have a couple of blades that always seem to catch the back of the sheath or the keeper loop.

I recently found a reel of sticky backed 2" Kevlar sail repair tape.

This does a pretty good job of protecting the sheath and is surprisingly resistant to knife cuts.

It can be cut with scissors (although they need to be sharp) and formed into the shape of the sheath.

Does anyone else use anything better?

A better designed sheath? ;)

I'd hope so as kevlar is used to make body armour! :D

Not Kydex, definately Kevlar tape.

I have built some composite kayaks and surfboards and Kevlar was my worst nightmare because it was so hard to cut.

If anyone is intersted just do a search for Kevlar Sail Repair tape or use the following link.

Clearly a well designed sheath would be perfect but a kevlar lining at the bottom of an axe sheath or as previously mentioned on the exit might help save the sheath.
