KNIFE TRADED

Hi folks

Time to re-advertise this knife

This is the famous Gerber folding interpretation of the Applegate Fairbairn fixed blade knife. Named after the stick or implement used to play the ball game 'Com', it is sometimes advertised as the Gerber AF 'Com-bat' folder

One of the largest folders around, this is the folding knife for anybody who has dreamed of their partner uttering the phrase 'b****y hell that's huge!'

I won't bore you with details as you either know the knife or will check out how much it would cost you from the good people at www.knifecenter.com.

Which is where I bought it from six months or so ago. It is absolutely pristine, unsharpened, with belt sheath and box.

It cost me $90 + $29 postage + £30 customs.

So lets call it £80 ono. Remember that this money will go to support Mr K Wilkins in his mission to supply custom knives to BB members in return for very large sums of money.

Me, in this case.

Ahhhh, wayne, as Danzo pointed out, it's actually a bat for that famous game "com" - I'm suprised you havent heard of it. ;)

It is odd though, as you can quite legally buy a 36" differentially hardened, razor sharp, carbon steel katana. Which obviously has multiple uses and a bread sword, a cheese sword, nail clipping sword, general utility sword and an emergency cigar cutting sword. :D

Which version is this, double or single bevel?

Hi Ophidian

The double, which is capable of being ground to an edge in juridictions that allow 'daggers and dirks', like here, but oddly, not a fair few US states.

nail clipping sword

Surely though Martyn, it's only good for one use as a toenail clipping tool:confused: :yikes:

A fine looking bat. Tell me, what kind of court is the sport of com played in - the kind where the umpire is called M'lud?

If anybody plays 'com' the price of the bat is negotiable and includes postage.

You lot in the cheap seats can :censored: off.

:twak:

( :smlove2: you really! )

Well my Katana and Longsword are 'historical' collectors items... Well the hand made and forged longsword certainly is! :p

We make big cheese in Wales don't you know? :biggthump
