Ordering from TAD direct?

Hi All,

I'm just wondering if anyone has ordered items direct from TAD in the US?

If so, were there any problems, import charges, waits, all of that jazz? I never import stuff so don't really know what the deal is.

And NO, I'm not buying the skeleton key :D

Yes I have ordered from them a few times now. The service is very good but in addition to their shipping charge you will have to pay VAT/customs fees at this end plus a local UPS or Parcelfocrce handling fee.

Thanks for your reply. If you don't mind me asking, what did you order and how much were the customs/handling fees? I might be buying one of the rucksacks at some point.

Mostly jackets. VAT will be 20% and from memory on an order that carried a pretty high value I think there was circa 5% customs duty added - you could search on the rates to see what you would be in for. Local handling fees if say delivered via Parcelforce are going to be around £15, so it all adds up.

Mike (kixmc) will have a much better grasp of current costs if he is around.

Ooof I forgot about 20% VAT. Sounds like once it all tots up there's actually not that big of a saving over getting it straight from Heinnies. Hmmm.
