You know, I think you might be right. Unless I'm having a senior moment as well?

Oh well, I should have a nice assortment of BrewDog's finest IPA, lagers & pale ales waiting for me when I get home to make up for any senior moment confusion... Or is that to add to it? ;)

Beers arrived safely today - delivered to a neighbour. And as a testament to brewdog's packing skills, no breakages of either the beers or the set of glasses, despite the box looking like it had been kicked around the depot!

Meanwhile, back on topic of the July pub meet - yeah, what Chui says!

Come and join us! It's great to see the regulars but there's lots of Londoners here on BB - how hard would it be to get to Putney on a Sunday?

Try it! You might like it

Just arrived back from the USA with another 10 pieces to bring to the meet in July.
Promise it will only be one case this time.
Included are the Alaskan Bowie I just picked up, a sweet little jade handled knife, a Bob Ogg folder from around the 60's
and the Revishvili Bowie that I posted on here a while back.
Oh and a few business knives circa 60's through to the early 70's just to prove that the "over engineering" that was thrown at a couple of my Farid knives is absolutely nothing new. These are small but very beefy.......

When I enter the gates of London I have no doubt the Pearly kings and queens will come dancing down the street, raise me on their shoulders, and singing "My Old Man's a Dustman" will carry me, a long lost son of London, on their shoulders to the tender care of the cheery and kindly Thames boatmen, who will row me swiftly to Putney Bridge on a skiff, as I dine on a barrel of oysters and a flagon or two of Fuller's ale, the finest in all of Chiswick.

Danzo

I've heard that legend. What is it about the women in Nottingham that drives away most of the male population?

Nottingham's wealth was based on the making of lace originally, and the lace-making industry from early on employed huge numbers of women, with men involved of course, but you had a city where a lot of young women were employed and financially quite well off in comparative national terms. By the early 1900's bicycle making began and Raleigh used to employ 25,000 people here, and a fair number of them were women too.

So the thing about five girls for every guy probably arose out of that, a lot of young women who earned enough money to be fairly independent.

Fellas,
Anyone got a nice single bladed slippy up for grabs (ideally something like a Pitts). Trade or sale..
If so please bring along.

Was going to say, the only thing "something like a PITS" folder is a PITS Folder :D

To all,

I'm gonna be late, but I'm gonna be there. I have a 40th reunion at my first secondary school (Woodford Green) and have arranged to meet someone there. I should be in Putney around 3.30pm.
Will bring a few things to show but not loads, as I'm on the motorbike.

Congrats to TNHD for the birthday - and the stunning most and moist chocolaty cake.........umm yumm.

Great to welcome Steven from SABlade and his brother Marc, they really got stuck in to some great conversation with the guys n gals.

Thank you to The Dukes Head once again for great hosting, pub grub and drink.

It was a great meet, brilliant atmosphere..........and Guy, that bowie of yours is a real crowd puller, deservedly so. Just beautiful, mate.

Finally a great big thank you to Nico for donating all this to the raffle, which TNHD has cleverly suggested will go towards the next meet when we have a biggee for charity:

It's not my birthday until the 19th but I figured that bringing a cake along during the same moth as my birthday made more sense than bringing it to the next meet

It was a good'un again, really nice to catch up with everyone and the refurbished upstairs room was really nice. There were ome stunning blades on show (Guycep Bowie. wow!), and great to see Steven from SA blade again (we met at the BBQ at Nico's that led to the foundation of LSECCA) and to meet his brother.

Really great to see Nico again, and WOW, what a totally unexpected and massively generous donation for the next meetup's charity raffle. 7 ESEE t-shirts in varying sizes and THREE knives (all brand new in sealed packaging) :O bit awkward to get a good pic of them through the plastic bags they're sealed in... But here they are.

Just for fun, Tom put a hair shaving edge on the cake knife that the pub gave us to cut the cake... The chefs couldn't believe it, so the then put superb edges on two of their kitchen knives for them. he followed up doing some sharpening for a couple of other folks, then pulled out a "cheap & nasty" kitchen knife and offered lessons in sharpening on water stones to people who were interested. Top bloke!

Thanks again to Chui for sorting the pub, and to the Dukes Head for hosting us.

Very nice indded to meet Steven from SA Blade and have some overseas guests.

Super venue & a great display of knives.

Thanks to all for alowing the handling of their prized possesions. Very sorry I missed it.

I turned up at 6pm but you'd all gone by then.
Unfortunately everyone got off to a delayed start. I had chain tension issues and oil change,
and the mate I was supposed to meet at 1 didn't turn up until 2. We had a good chat etc. and met some
old faces who like me hadn't been invited. I got away around 4, but a big crash on the A12 saw traffic blocked both ways and
the "jaws of life" brought out. I had wanted to show my just completed Friction Folder in a Michael Morris style.
4mm Damasteel blade on 6mm G10 scales. Much chunkier than the original and I used a 5.5mm silver steel pivot.
Should be robust enough. I had the forest/jade/olive G10 and tried to reproduce the 'mascus pattern through the handle.
Not sure that it worked like I was expecting and the result isn't too pretty. It will still be my regular EDC from now on.
I'll post some pics later.

Well spotted Sam, yes indeed. It got a lot of looks and many of the guys picked it up for a play, asking where I got it from.

It was funny, five knives on my table were given to me by BB members. Some gifts, some from comps. Trevor was most upset about my Russ White folder that I won a little while back, most upset
