I was in a jam ( mushi…. Don’t even think it!)
I had got an order for a knife with blade dimensions I didn’t have. So I phoned our almost resident Noggin Trond the Viking ( caterpillar under nose and all).
I asked if he had time to make my blade, a highly polished laminated blade 20mm wide over the tang and 92mm in length. Of course he answered NO ( or at least it meant that!)
He then told me he was on the case and that he would get it done asap. This was Friday 31st.
Today a packet plops through the post and there it is…. A beaut. Absolutely cracking. I looked at the postmark, and it was posted Monday. Which means that he forged and finished it over the weekend.
The blade itself is better than the normal c*** he makes :lmao:, and was faultless.
In addition he had sent me the damascus blade I had pestered about too. A 21 mm wide 83 mm blade in the “ eye of odin” ( a typically noggin pattern) Reasonably priced, well finished, eye catching without being gawdy, and sharp!
What more could I ask. I can honestly say that the man is a gentleman ( even if he is a noggin) The quality of his blades is 100’s of times better now than the first blades he made. He didn’t make damascus then, and he didn’t make polished finished either.
Don’t take my word for it though….. get a blade made and try it for yourself!
Has anybody else tried his blades yet... ?
