Hello! Im having a little problem in my forge. Im using Siporex blocks to carve out a half moon bed for my forge floor. Its easy to work with and cheap. The problem is that the siporex cracks up and gets porous, but that isnt the biggest problem. Yesterday a pulled the floor siporex out and i saw that it had melted. Not the whole slab but a bit on the surface closest to the burner. Do you know how much heat siporex can handle. I have google it but i cand find the info. What do you people use to make a forgefloor?

hard fire brick either whole or sliced (splits) verry hard wearing but do not insulate all that well

its not realy for insulation just to protect the kaowool. Flux and sharp pointy things are hard on the wool and ITC-100.
