right now that the title has gotten your attention maybe you might be able to help. :biggthump
I am looking for some horn\bone\tusk whatever that can be used as bolsters and spacers.
The stuff i have has far too much marrow going through it meaning that i will have about 3mm of working room.
Anyone got anything that might be suitable?

Dave, that Mercorne pricelist I sent you has some cow horn, walrus tooth and maybe other horn, too.
I have a good number of Tagua nuts (vegetable Ivory) that polishes up really nice. Look at Luupää that Juha made for me.
Or I've got a piece of cow's shin that might do. It's a slice that the butcher gave me. It's been boiled (in red wine, with the pieces of meat) for about six hours, and then has been throught the dishwasher twice. You might need to bleach it, or dye it, to get the colour you want.

Arn't those nuts slightly hollow?
Could the cow shin b bleached in normal bleach? or would it need something special....

Tagua nuts often have a cavity in the centre, and sometimes there can be a small hole near the top. This looks to me like the place where the shoot would come from if the nut were able to germinate.
The nuts are quite varied in size and shape, but quite a few of them are big enough to carve into a pommel or top bolster, and some are good enough to become a bottom bolster. Most of them would be good for making spacers, and you can fill the cavity with shellac or epoxy.
I think I've read that hydrogen peroxyde is better than chlorine-based bleach.

Got some reindeer and moose slices from Brisa when they were on special offer. Buffalo is available from there, too. Have a look at the Tarjoukset.
