Hello everyone. I know that this is supposed to be a forum for knives, but many knife smiths makes other things to (like me  ) and i thought it might be a good idea to present some of this here.
If i am out of order, :ban: If not, please post piccies :biggthump

Hi Trond, not out of order at all!:D & as soon as I get the hang of this bashing metal lark, I'll be doing some "practice pieces" of things like basket hangers & stuff & posting 'em (good or bad;))

Yes, loads of stuff, mirrors, tables, bowls, curtain poles, brackets, candlesticks, wall pieces, gates, panels, plant stands, knives and damascus, to name but a few. Have loads of photos but no website, something I shall get round to this year or next, who knows.
Happy New Year, Mick.

At the moment, primarily tools to make more tools... The occasional fork; still learning to make mokume; general practice pieces to get techniques right and so on.

At some point in the near future, I think I need to make myself a tong rack. Could do with a decent stand for the post vices, too.

Off to a hammerin at Richard Bent's forge tomorrow, so I'll probably pinch some ideas then.

So far, Trond, I've only "forged" one blade (and I hesitate to say that I forged it... I just flattened it a bit, from about 4.5mm thick to 3.25mm, and ground the bevels.

But I have "forged" (well, banged into shape and twisted) a few little bits of ironwork, like hanging hooks for lamps, swan-necks for hanging gauze over cradles and beds...

See? lots of us are bashing iron into lots of strange shapes :D so far only Jon put out the piccie though.
Mick if you have many piccies, why not find the one that you are most proud of and put it out here?
Uguguugugugugugug ou wish :D Oh, and i thought they would have banned you months ago?

Being a steel basher and not very good at pressing buttons, am I right in thinking that to post a photo it has to be somewhere on the web, so that you can put a link to it.

Yes Mick, in general it does. However, you can attach pictures to posts here at BB. Look down below the Reply window when you are typing a message and you will see the 'Attach Files' section. Click on 'Manage Attachments' and you can load a picture from your PC.

Or you can show something from this lot of course, anywhere you like.

If you have any other images to post, either use the British Blades gallery or let me have them again and I'll happily put them on the web for you.

Well, Danzo did want a custom nipple-piercing device ..... ;)

Or it could be a candlestick. The bottom of the candle goes in the loop and the spike sits alongside the candle.

Then again you could just leave it amongst the cushions on your mother-in-law's favourite chair ...... did I hear Danzo calling again? :D

Well, I forged a hardy fuller today (amongst the senseless massacre of some coil spring). So much easier when you have access to a power hammer!

A certain Mr Maxen was mentioned a lot in the context of pattern welding... :D

Oh yes - and *I* knew it was a candlestick, Roger - don't listen to him! S'nice, too.
