Beeswax

I went to "honeys and beeswax 'R' us" yesterday, and got two blocks of beeswax for EUR3 each (around 220g each).

Apart from cutler's resin, and for polishing wood, what other knife-related recipes call for this stuff?

heat it up in a pot and dip yer bits of leather in it. Sets em rock hard and waterproof. I think the men of old used it to harden leather armour. :D
