In case you're in any doubt, the BM 710 HSSR is the M2 steel, black coated, semi-serrated version of the perennial McHenry & Williams classic.

Postage is normaly between $28 & $32 depending on what I am getting.

I think the prides are $35 from the knifecentre which is where I place almost all of my orders.

I did not thnk that 1sks shipped outside the USA?

I am waiting for Howard at the knifecentre to get a couple of surefire bits in for mr but this may take a while so I may be tempted into another pride myself as The General has the first one I bought.

i may be able to gey another body into the action to split the carriage 3 ways but it may take a few weeks.

I am off to the states on my hols in 10 days or so and may be able to pick up a couple of bits while out there but they will probably work out more per knife than interent dealers but with no carriage.

Let me know if you want me to get you one and I will work something out one way or another.

Yes, I'm definitely after a "Union Jack" Pride. My wife caught some grief at work for carrying a Spydie "Ladybug" :mad: I made the mistake of letting her see my first Pride. You can guess the rest...

As to your Ladybug comment: How true! This is becoming a nation of sheeple. An example: recently a girl in the office where I work needed to sharpen a pencil. The mechanical sharpener was broken. Without thinking I proffered my SAK. She refused to handle the knife, nervously giggling "I'd cut meself." She handed me the pencil to sharpen, then (get this!) walked to the other end of the office while I sharpened it for her. She refused even to be near a knife.

Peter - I have had such thoughts myself on this subject.

The main downer is that we are staying in a villa (well its not a downer per say) so my wife would find out I had been buying things again :eek:

The outlaws are paying for the villa and hopefully doing some 4 year old sitting as well HOORAY, we have almost forgotten what it is to go out.

That sharing shipping costs sounds sensible, Knifecenter is doing a special on the Mini Socom at $89.95. Anything to offset the costs is fine by me.

Talking about going out, I've got 6 month old twins and apart from work and getting food, never leave the house!

You might want to think again about th mini socom. I picked one up from the states for a friend and was not impressed with it all.

It had a very flimsy seeming liner and the fit & finish were nothing to write home about. The only other microtech I had handles was a Kestral and that was superb in comparison to the mini socom, you would not think they had been made by the same comany.

The kestral was made back in 1999 and the socom 2002 but I dont know if it was just design differnces. I suppose the kestral was about twice the price of the socom as well????

I've never handled a MT but Bladeforums seem to knock themselves out over them so I thought I'll give them a go but not if you don't think the mini socom is not that good.

Knifecenter don't seem to have many MTs unless you want an auto and it's hard tracking down a large MA socom.

shing - I dont know about all of them but I was really unimpressed with the one I handled.

Trouble is I judge everything now against my sebenza's which makes it hard although I thought the MT kestral was the best production knife I had come across apart from my sebenza's.

Hehehehe, we had a monitor swap out today in work, the courier was getting impatient and we had a shop full of people. I pulled out my Large Benza, opened the box, put it back in my pocket and swapped the monitors over. Did it in about 30 secs flat.

About halfway through doing it, I heard "JESUS" as a customer literally backed away. Various comments were heard like you could kill someone with that...

I smiled and said, the manager says its ok as long as its for work. The manager does... its me!:cool:

SHEEPLE! In fairness I would never normally use a 3inch+ knife on the customer side of the counter or in view. I was in a hurry though... Perhaps they would have prefered me to get a flat heat screwdriver and use that to open the box?:rolleyes:
