Some major stuff here.
Photopost (the gallery) has been upgraded from 4.1 to 4.7, the latest release. It was a necessary, but problematic upgrade. It's more fully integrated with the forum, but may cause cookie problems for a few users.
if you get cookie problems (strange login occurances, weird avatars or whatever), click on the following link and run the script....
http://www.britishblades.com/forums/mycookies.php
It'll reset your cookies just for this site. Login after and all should be well with the world.
The new gallery pulls the headers and footers from the forum, with a little coding, I've managed to get all the menubar links to work from the gallery. Also, most (but not all) the CSS info is pulled from vB too. This means the *look* of the gallery will change depending what skin you choose - it's dynamic, just like the forum. The look of the old one was hard coded in html - a real pain.
We also had some security issues, at one point we thought the site was being hacked. I had to stump up to renew my vB licence (which I was gonna do anyway, but not untill vB3 gold was released), to install RC4, this contained some security fixes which were badly needed. So we got a forum update too. According to Danzo, it took me 8 minutes to do the upgrade - the first time I did it, I was on it for half a day - LOL.
The down side, it killed the arcade. There were hundreds of lines of custom code in the arcade, which all got overwritten with RC4. I had to redo all the code, but the good news is that all the high scores were preserved in the database and you should see no difference.
The upshot, we're bang up to date with our software. The latest forums and the latest gallery, the arcade is working again and the security hole is plugged. The downside, it's not so polished. It'll take me a day or two to iron out all the wrinkles. You may get some login difficulties (cookie weirdness) or strange avatar problems. It's transient and once your cookies are cleared, the problem will be sorted, permanently. The "who was online" feature is down, untill I get to re-hack the files again.
Busy night. ;)
