After a long and exhaustive search Ive found my local DIY shop does some Very nice 3lb cross pein hammers "made in Whitehouse england Smiths hand hickory handle" I cant find these anywhere on t'internet so no link I'm afraid
16" shaft
If any of you budding forgers out there are having as hard a time as I was finding one I will be happy to pick a couple up and bring them to Leeds Or I will post them but the postage might be quite allot.
£12
I'm not sure how many he has in but it may be a case of first come first served

Of course just means I will have to forgo a pair of clothes and turn up in the nuddy :O
Sorry about putting in the wrong place it didn't occur to me as a group buy until I sat down and thought about it. .
Are they as hard to get as I think or am I just looking in the wrong places (Cromwells, BandQ, Axminster, Ebay and machine mart don't have them and a internet search doesn't turn up much).
While I think about it I should cap the amount I can take to Leeds at say .... 7 ish (if i can get that many) as I'm on the train and walking when I arrive so I don't want 20 hammers to lug around.

Dont worry yours wont come with a face like this .. I took the grinder to mine to knock the corners off and didn't do a very neat job.

Hmmmm. I thought Cromwells had them in the catalogue, but no, they're not there now??
As I don't have forge access right now, if more than 7 peeps want you to take one to Leeds, I don't mind stepping aside mate. Otherwise I'll definitely take one.

Of course if anyone offers me a lift I will be able to take more but 21 lb's of hammers + handles + my collection + clothing you get the idea is about enough for the train

Ive just been sent me this link
http://www.whdirect.co.uk/detail.lasso?keyvalue=17352&-session=Login:5195CDF40313f29C2BTVFE558D12
But at £8 for postage the price is about the same unless your making up an order 5 pence cheaper to be exact
Feel free to withdraw if you want to go for this :D
Personally I prefer wooden handles but its Mainly personal preference and a cost/quality ratio,
To clarify Im still going ahead with My original idea of Getting them from my local DIY shop But if anyone wants to drop out and or arrange a group buy from warehouse direct thats fine by me.
But could you let me know ASAP if you want to drop out because time wears thin and I really have got to get these bought

sorry guys
Only Two left in :C
Thats PS_Bond and Ratel10mm
Hepotec and JJH The nice guy in the shop says if he can get any more he will but its looking unlikely If I can get a couple more in time for Owens hammering I will get them for you then
Colin you don't need to collect JJH's any more and JJH you don't need to send that payment off just yet ... unless its too late in which case I wont cash it.

As previously said - I don't have a forge at the moment, so if someone else would like / needs to get one now, they can have mine. Otherwise I'm good for it tomorrow K-M. 7 if somneone does want 'mine' I'll still be wanting one later in the year.
