Another one:

Blade is made by Maihkel Eklund to my specs, steel is 4 mm Uddeholm UHB20C, hardened to about 59RC. Handles are snakewood, blade is slightly vinegar-etched to take that mirror off :)

Well done, Emile.
What are you using as pins ?
Recently ? - haven't you got snow at your place. Up here the snow is just starting to melt now...

Tvividr,

I use 5mm hex bolts, they both go into a small tube with a 5 mm screw-tap. I make these myself. Mosaic pins are maybe nicer, but the advantage is that you can lock and flatten the parts together real good. I stole the idea from John Greco. This is a user blade for me, so usability is more important. Besides, I kind of like the look.

Yes, It did snow a while ago, but as of today, it looks like spring has arrived. :D

Good idea, and by the way... its a nice piece of snakewood too.
I have used Corby Type Rivets on some knives, and have just ordered some Loveless Type Rivets for some knives on the "drawing board".
Hope spring will arrive here pretty soon too.

Yes, it came with a perfect shine finish. This is the 3rth blade from Maihkel I fitted and they are very nice. But I do not like shiny blades in users and this is a user. If you are working with the blade in the sun, the mirror finish bothers me. So it went into a vinegar bath. I will do that a couple of times more to get a more even patina.

There are some scratches from sanding the handle that I could polish further out, but I would have to invest in polishing discs. I know that with use, the handle steel darkens from your sweat, so I skipped that.

This addictive hobby gets worse and worse however, so my equipment list is growing. :D
