Ohh yess ! A few member around these parts have decided that whatever the EMCCU can do, we can try it too :D I have the venue organised in Wigan town centre right opposite the train station. Great food and a perfect room upstairs for the meeting. Cheap B&B on the doorstep too :)
Can any folks who feel like meeting up please add their names to the list in post 2 below, ie. cut and paste your names in. I'll leave this post for 2 weeks, then make arrangements for a date for the first meet. Let's get this off the ground ;)
Sat 14th April

So what do we think .. North West or just Northern ? Any Yorks/Cumbrian/Cheshire etc... members want to be included ?

I think you need to keep it to a region that people will travel within Mike. You are unlikely to get members in Sunderland coming to a meeting in Wigan, and vice versa.
If people are willing to organise the functions I reckon there is scope for a North West, North, and North East community.

Remember we only created the EMCCU as a kind of cover story for a meetup in Nottingham, and it was only in Nottingham as I suggested it and Guy could get us the venue, and we are both in Nottingham. We used the convoluted name so that it sounded like a venerable old institution on invitation letters, should they be needed.
We've had people attending from Manchester, Newcastle. Hampshire, N. Wales and Bristol, and that's just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Yup, what Dave said.
You need to keep the momentum up. Get another meetup organised soon. I think all of us in the EMCCU would agree that it's the fact that we kept on with it that has resulted in our success as a group of friends who enjoy meeting with each other.
