hi there. This is my first fulltang knife.......i went to Trond couple of days ago.....I buyed a piece of steel from him and did my first attemp to grind a blade. No forging.... The secondary bewel is not made yet. Im A sucker when it comes to photography, so it the blade looks a bit strange. Thats the pic tho. I havent heat treated the blade yet so ive just cutted out the scales and bored holes for the mosaic pins(Thanks zdp!)....The scales are curly birch.....So what do you think about it? Im quite satisfied with it so far....

That looks great Johan :)

I see you've drilled everything dry before gluing, what order did you do it in?

Looks good, how big is it? The holes were the thing that gave me the most problems on mine. What type of HT do you have planned?

Well. First im gonna use magnet heat treat method: Warm the blade until the magnet and the blade wont connect anymore if i can say that, then im gonna put the blade in oil for around 30 secons moving the blade.......Then for tempering, 250 degrees celsius in 15 minutes.......Then im gonna make the seconday bewel.....

You're welcome Johan. So this is what you meant! It looks great already - a very wide blade and a flat grind from the spine to the belly.

Trond,

You are doing an excelent job with this guy. It is always good to see new talents being born, and you are in lots of ways responsible for the nice knives Johan have been making. Congratulations for both of you.
