I always like looking at the knives here and really enjoy the work that is done. So the next step would be to try one myself.
Forged 01 4" blade with maple handle. The guard is some kind of nut but I do not know the name of it. Thanks for looking.

The nut may be Tagua.

Yes that us the name of it tauga, thanks.
The maple was a real find I was sold as basic lumber, I had to sort through a whole lift to get 2 boards but well worth the price. Also it tales a little practic to see the good ones in rough form. I sanded it up to 600 grit and then buffed it with a clean wheel I thinks it helps tp bring the grain out.
Yes I forged it myself, I do not have a grinder and try to get them as close to final shape as I can.
It was fun and I will try another and work on getting the blade guard part a little closer to the style.
