Still not 27,000 Danzo. Come on answer me, twice.
Ant
I think everyone will agree it was an absolutely fantastic weekend.
It was a pleasure to meet new BB faces benp1 and Paul Hardwick and Ant's non BB friends Andrew and Anita.
A big thanks to Andrew for the rabbits, and congratulations on winning the Alox SAK and singteck sheath!
:biggthump
I think Razors will be putting his house on the market tomorrow as he so fell in love with Hill Holt Wood that he wants to move there permanantly!
Fantastic generosity all round in the raffle, everyone actually came away with a prize.
A big, big thanks to everyone who attended for making it such a wonderful event and especially to Anthony for providing such a superb venue.

Before I forget I must record what for me was the funniest line of the whole weekend.
We were sitting around discussing a knife, and somebody described the style as 'Elvish'.
Narsil responded:
"Las Vegas Elvish, or his early stuff?"

A big thank you to Ant for organizing the weekend and to all of you who attended for a great time.
:biggthump
Lots and lots of pictures :), apologies for bad the blue cast on some of them, I had a custom white balance turned on for some indoor incandescant pictures and forgot to turn it off
Mucho thanks to Ant for all the organising and the far reaching EMCCU members for coming along it really was a superb weekend. Here's a brief picture book of the activities I remembered to snap.

Just took this pic though:
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1035/540699237_9f1b4b8f87.jpg
Imagine the area around the slightly open cut is covered in a plaster and some tape. The cut coming down from my thumb ran across the plaster and tape, (tearing it as it went along) and then lightly scratched my arm just on the other side of the taped area, but it cant really be seen now. How did I manage this you wonder...well great skill, a knife for the large cut and a pointed stick, made with said knife, for the second one :rolleye11

What important things did we learn this weekend?
1. Colin sleeps in a Wendy-House.
2. In the woods it is actually impossible to drink too much beer.
3. One can of sawdust is REALLY not enough the morning after vegetable chilli and rabbit stew.
4. It really doesn't matter how blunt a blade is, it will still cut clean through a beer can if Guy is swinging it.
Any more?
:D

Mr Yarrow will cut himself more easily than a blind woodsman on a night shift with a double sided axe with no handle wearing nothing but a pair of stilletos intoxicated with magic mushrooms while his friend the blind archer gets some practice in nearby.

At last , proper bushcraft :D
Looks like a great weekend was had by all, some great pic's lads.
passed down from father to son, Colin declared he could never divulge the secret behind his 'baby carrot' trapping technique.

So far I seem to have got away remarkably lightly!

If I recollect correctly, as one of the very few who was stone cold sober at close of play, didn't the Ninjas all go to bed early?

how about the discovery that a select few snore
other people snore on behalf of a whole bloody army!
i've only really got pics of the rabbit skinning, the throwing ones were rubbish. i've got some ones of andrew and then stuart took some of me. not sure how to post them up without the clever little hide tags. they're a bit gory.
oh yeah, just remembered that the other half has the camera and has gone away for the week so can't post them till the weekend anyway

Yup, and me on vocals! Check out the beard, shades and hat! Yarrow is the stumbling boy with the axe, there's Guy getting annoyed with a folding table and only Stu Barker is cute enough to be a background dancer. He's got that almost flat tummy as well.
Were you hiding in the trees?
We'd have given somebody's soul for ten Bensons at about three o'clock that morning when the cigs ran out.....

I've been sat here trying to decide what to write for the past 25 minutes. Just thanks to everyone who came, really. I had a great time.

Anthony, I have had the same problem..........lots of excitement and good stories but I am unable to do the weekend justice with words;) It was a Fantastic weekend and thanks for organising it.....................
I quite agree...I had a brilliant time and the weekend cheered me up immensely, I for one hope it becomes a regular event, but definitely not more than once a week ;)

As a new member when i came out Sunday morning i was made very welcome, and i really enjoyed myself, and it is very obvious to me that the English custom knife scene is very much alive.
Thanks PH.

it was a great weekend, next time can we start on friday, so we can have 2 nights of getting pissed and farting? :D
Thanks for the great company gentlemen, I enjoyed it, but I did feel a little uncomfortable having to rough it that much, so next time I'll bring more kit

I think that we should have a week long boozecraft event every year. We would need a remote location within striking distance of an off-licence and a curry house. Any suggestions?

i'd like to say the same. the weekend was awesome. exceeded all my expectations my a long shot
Things like that should be held more often. I guess this overnight meet had a different vibe from a hammerin as there was no official 'theme', just everyone together having a laugh. shame we didn't get to have a go at archery, maybe next time? :D
Ubermeister, serious thanks to you, the place was such a good venue, enough space for all of us (tents and kit) and out of the way of other people so that we can break out the blades,
by the way still well chuffed with the OMF i won in the raffle, gave it a quick touch up and its definitely going to be a user. thanks guys!
Still can't believe it didn't rain.

You joining us for the second one then?
On a subject very dear to me heart; how did it work out with food at the first one? I've heard about the rabbit stew (and seen the pics :O) but did everybody bring along bits & pieces of various dead animals and then there was a big communal cook-out? Just trying to decide what to bring food-wise.
