Thanks! by the way it's quite fun to know that even on the forums the clocks are adjusted to local time
it's past 9 here!

referrals is people who have got to the site by following a link that you have posted somewhere, prolly on your website. I supposes whether its good or bad depends on who they are ;)

I a bit crap at working all this referrals stuff out.

Had I been able to do it Danzo would have got the blame for leading me here.

Buggered if i know how I have a referral as I've never posted a link anywhere.

The timezone is adjustable in your userCP dave, you can set daylight saving too. The forum should show your local time wherever you are in the world.

OK, referrals - you could look in the forum FAQ for the answer, and here's what you'd find...

The administrator may have enabled referrals, which allows you to be credited for any new users you invite to the forum.

You gain referrals by promoting British Blades using your unique referral link. The link you should use as your referral link is this:

http://www.britishblades.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=?

The questionmark at the end of that link needs to be replaced with your unique user ID - this is the number you see at the end of the link when you mouseover your name in a post - My user ID is "1" ...so I would tag the number 1 onto that link...

http://www.britishblades.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=1

That then becomes my unique referrer link.

Each time someone follows this link to British Blades and registers as a new member, your referral count will be incremented by one. The number of referrals you have can be viewed in your profile.

If you are too lazy to work out your referrer link, you can just right click the referrer link in the sidemenu and choose "copy", then paste it wherever you want to put a link to british blades. New members that register after following that link will then be credited to you.

So....

narsil...

Chux...

Easy innit? ;)

But you can be a bit crafty about it, mouse over the following link.....

BritishBlades.com ...the best cutlery forums in the UK (http://www.britishblades.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=1)

Hehe. ;) :biggthump

The easiest way to access your referral link if you forget it, is to look in the forum sidemenu on the front page. There is a clever bit of code there which displays each users referrer link as they view it. Mouse over the link thier and you will see it has your userid on the end. You can right click on it and choose "copy shortcut" then paste it wherever. ;)
