I'm working on this knife right now; neither the knife or the sheath are complete and this is a work in progress note, but anything helpful you may have to say will be gratefully received.

First, let's clarify the name before I get moderated. It's called a "fighter", because that's what the blade was called in the catalogue. Actually I de-spec'ed it, by rounding the top edge like on a Sebenza, so it's no longer a suitable as a combat knife/ fighter - it's just an outdoorsy kinda knife.
It's my first such knife. Like many of my recent knives, I designed it to be like that which I cannot really afford to buy. The knife is modelled after a Shiva Ki Merc, but styled like a J. Nielsen and with native american style trimmings.
Specs are:
OAL 11.5", Blade tip to bolster 6.75"
Blade (alas purchased) cast dendritic 440C steel. Slight
recurve and convex final edge on a flat grind, upper is a swedge.
Cast integral bolster. With the finger-choil it acts a bit like a sub-hilt when you choke down on the blade
Dovetailed full tang
Throat of reconstituted turquoise with black vulcan fibre spacers
Stabilised curly bubinga handles with red vulcan fibre spacers
Copper-in-steel mosaic pins
Lanyard hole is waiting for an appropriate brass liner
Sheath is a shaped wallnut box sheath made to fit the blade tightly. There'll be belt loop and retainer strap. I may use some of that sea-snakeskin in the background for a full wrap (rather than an inlay).
My initial thoughts is that it's an great as an indestructible tool, but too heavy for a real fighting knife anyway.
It'll either be my second Summer KITH knife, or my brother's birthday present.
