Heat treatment with cryo is £5 per blade including return postage. I haven't used 154 CM before so can't tell you.

You can easily go down to 1mm or a little less.

Bob Engnath showed me some blades years ago where he'd actually overground them to a sharp edge.

They came back from Paul Bos's heat treatment and cut just fine.

Don't forget that (assuming the blades will be foil wrapped) you can finish them more or less completely.

Foil wrapped stainless is great in that you can sand and polish it, heat treat it then run it through the last two stages of polishing again and you're done.

If they won't be foil wrapped don't go above around 400 or 600 grit max, since you'll have to drop back a grit or two and do some light sanding then go on to polish.

I often take my stainless blades to 1200 grit prior to heat treating and as long as you foil wrap them they come out more or less the same as how they went in.

Apologies for jumping in on a sales thread, but detail was asked for.
