First up ,Ive got 5 sets(each set will have 3 slabs, plenty to do a large and a smaller handle) of this 100% recycled Material.
Its made from recycled tyres and is similar to G-10 in looks.

It can be cut with a hand- saw/ hacksaw or bandsaw and sanded / filed or carved and drilled and it sticks very well.(but dosent polish well!)

Left as it is , it makes a great non slippy handle that has great strength, warmth and durability and like micarta /g-10 is not prone to temp/ warping or movement and isnt affected by blood/oils etc.

Its a good substitue , perfect for hard use tools and similar to material used in cutting comp handles, but is only available in black!

To demonstate its stength and flex , I hit a scale very hard with a 3lb hammer and then on the other side with the ball -pein!

X3 Scales of a New Zealand tree fern, these will need to be stabalized , but will make a truely unique set of handles or onlays.
They have been hardened with wood hardener but for true potential should probably be treated .
Worked with wire wool, the lighter colours abrade faster than the harder black lines creating a wonderful 3d sculptured effect and a great gripppy and interesting handle !
Price all in is £12.00 & some small offcutts to play around with !

IF INTERESTED ,Please post in thread and then PM , many thanks Ru.

silly question but what is in the Tyre scales, FRN is fiber glass and nylon, G-10/G-11 is resin and fiber glass, carbon fiber is carbon fiber and resin so these ones are Tyre and ??? , I'm only interested due to any specific HSE requirements breathing equipment, face masks that sort of thing

any help is greatly received
