Finished :)

15 inches overall length (thats about 38 cms for you metric people :) ).

286 random layer damascus, nickel silver guard and screw down pommel with bronze and leather spacers.

The clip is fully sharpened and will cut as well as the belly.

A view of the handle which is radicaly changed to what I was going to do. There are bronze spacers before the guard and pommel, but they dont show up so well in the photo.

How long is the blade then? 23 cm? That is a big blade!

Yes.23 cms for the blade is quite big (and wide)....could have made a few damascus scandi blades out of that one piece...lol


This is a picture of my starting billet...17 layers...It was then folded 4 times to get the final high layer count.

The middle layer is also utilized as my billet handle so no chance of the handle falling off.
A LOT of steel was used!!!!

The shiny layer are the 15n20 and the darker lines are the 1095...The thicker shiny layers are where I placed a clean new piece between each fold.
