Gene sent this blank to me along with some other good stuff, over a year ago & it's taken me this long to finish it:o

It's got a red deer handle, Ivory & black Micarta spacers & damascus guard & butt & of course, Gene's beautiful blade:D

Looking good Colin. How big is that thing? Knowing you it's not a 3" blade :D

I like the spacers, they add a certain style :)

Do we get to see the guard from another angle? Gene's cable I assume....

My 4 year old is at work with me before I take him to nursery and he just looked at your pick and said in a very excited voice " a sword"

Knowing Colin's little fetish's it is probably not far off :D

Very nice indeed Colin

Two questions, why does the blade have that er... *hammerite* finish?

Second what are you using as a prop? Whatyakilled?:p

Very very nice though.:)

My guess is a 7" blade... What do I win?;)

'Cos it is hammered... Well, sort of.

I think Colin may have etched the blade more deeply than I did on Julian's knife, so the pattern shows more.

Very nice, BTW!

Yeah, it's a pretty deep etch, came that way from Gene, although I did re etch it burn off a bit of red stuff:eek:

Roger, unfortunately it's now gone to it's new home (although I may be able to get it back for a pic or two) No, it's just any old Thunderforge #1 nickel twist damascus on guard & butt (all the other Osborn stuff is spoken for, guess I'll have to order some more;) )

Think it's @ 7" blade & the stag actually curves on three planes, sharp to the right @ 1.5" from guard, then a shallow "corkscrew" down & to the left a bit.

Wayne, that's a stag pair that I use for a coat rack most of the time;)
