Hi Everyone,
Found references to this forum on www.knifeforums.com and decided to join up. I'm a knife collector in Texas and prefer small to medium folders and fixed blade knives. I've just recently discovered Bark River knives and am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my second Mikro Canadian. I also like to design small fixed blade pocket knives, which I then have made by custom knifemakers. I'm really looking forward to seeing pics of new knives and meeting other collectors and makers.
Cheers,
Joe Gonzalez

Hi Joe, welcome to the forum. There are many of us here who are also waiting patiently for numerous Bark River knives to arrive.

Hi Joe, Welcome aboard. Our "cultural prspective is a bit different from the US, but I hope you like it here and we can learn from each other.
Your quote indicates you might like the best of both worlds... you should patent the "fixed blade folder" quickly.... :D

Welcome to BB, we're a friendly bunch

Sorry, I meant "fixed blade pocket knife". I edited it. I wanted to post a pic of one that Jens Anso made for me, but I don't see the attachment button. I've added attachments in other posts, so I'm not sure why I can't add one here. Can anyone help? Is it because this is only a reply?
Attachments may only be permitted for contributing members (£5 pa) IIRC

Are you sure? I haven't contributed yet - I'm waiting for my next paycheck - but I was able to attach a pic on a thread about the BRKT Canadian Mikro. Did I use up my attachment allotment or something? I had a real neat pic to post here.
No, not sure. I may have confused it with the gallery. :dunno:

I think it depends on the sze of the attatchments. 1 or 2 big pictures, or several smaller ones. Look under "User CP" for details.

Another route to getting an image up is to post a link to an image elsewhere on the web. If you right click the target image in its own setting and click on "properties" you can copy the resultant precise web address of the image and paste it into your post using the insert image button on the "advanced" reply page. This works from your own website or any other.
There is guidance in the FAQ section of this site...but I know that's a last resort.
Pity, I like the "fixed blade" folder concept ;)

I know how to do that, but I don't have a website.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)
Joe welcome to the forum... You can use the above link Andy gave for photohosting or send it to me and I can host it for you and give you the URL for it.
As the guys here have noted a bit of a different style to knives here than what we are use to seeing in the US... but we learn from both sides of the Pond and for that matter all over the world as we have members from all over the world on here.
cheers,
Joe (ODS)

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to try photobucket and see how it works.

Everyone gets some space for attachments, but contributing members get a bi9gger allocation. Gallery space is available only to contributors.

Oh, I see. Well, 5 pounds seems very reasonable, so I'll be contributing as soon as I can afford it. I just spent the last of my free cash on a BRKT Mikro Canadian, so my pockets are empty, but there sure is a big smile on my face!
