Sharpshooter

It was less than a year ago that I contacted Mike Stewart about making a spear pointed version of the Highland for "Bushcraft". The resulting prototypes were pretty darn good, but the real thing is worlds better.
The North Star is a reality and first class all the way. Through the entire project Mike was committed to making the end result first class and I think accomplished the goal.
Mike shipped me a North Star in basic trim (Green and Black Micarta with hollow pins) along with a Mikro to match. This is a NICE PAIR!!!

The sheath is still a prototype, but it sure holds lots of promise. The pocket perfectly holds a Doan FireStarter, leaving the tube to carry an ARC AAA flashlight making a very useful little survival kit. The Mikro is the addition taking the set to greatness.
The spear pointed North Star is sized just right for a bushcraft knife with plenty of straight razor sharp convex edge for whittling, a very strong and sharp point for "drilling" and plenty of blade strength to give me confidence that the knife will be up to whatever challenge we tackle.
The Mikro is a perfect little knife to keep the North Star company. Essentially it's a fixed blade pocket knife that perfectly accomplish the fine cutting tasks; from skinning out a badger to slicing a nice juicy steak.
I like this pair, they perfectly compliment each other. Nice Work.... I can hardly wait to get them into the woods and have them perform more substancial tasks than thin slicing sausage, cheese and onions for a roadside lunch. That's coming soon, our annual camping trip beside the Mississippi River is next month. I be spending some time before that in the woods, perhaps even a rematch with "Bloody Leg Lake" is in the cards.
