i have played with this idea for about a year now, ever since i saw a scandi knife i wondered if i could make something like that. I noticed many of you talking that flat grinds where the best so this is what i did it has a small mirco bevel on it for easy sharpening the blade is highly polished i did this to prevent rust on the blade as it is made of carbon steel (01) it can rust easy on a rough surface. The handle is going no where with seven stainless 5mm pins its tough as hell the scales are also glued with 2 ton devcon epoxy which i got from joe (ods). i treated the handle with lots of layers of danish oil. This is a tough user and i knife i always wanted i love it :p

I like it a lot - it looks like a great EDC (pity it wouldn't be UK legal as such).
Would even look good tucked intp lovat hose as a working Sgean Dhu pattern for day wear on the estate. Does the handle bevel into the ricasso or is it square? The design looks a little undecided at that point, but you've got just enough to ease sharpening so maybe its the perfect practical solution?

I'd like to see that handle pattern on a range of scandi blades...

hey base the edge start a couple mm after the ricasso. The ricasso on this one is perfect , anyone spot my new maker mark?

to add the pins have been mirror polished
