Now that the mid year catalogue is out, anyone know what the delivery date and price is? Maybe Charity will offer a deal?

I suspect that this (http://spyderco.com/forums/showpost.php?p=436577&postcount=123) is the best information that you'll get at this time.;)

that post mentions that some parts are made in USA and shipped to seki. Does that meen the new urban is not made in USA/Colorado

My understanding is the Urban will be alot cheaper than the UKPK and will be made in Seki.I could be wrong but i think VG10 was mentioned for the blade instead of S30V. But i believe there will be more choice in blade shape and handle materials.
Parts are shipped to Seki for the Urban. Blade steel is VG-10. Variety will be greater in blades and handles, but at this time it doesn't look like it will be less expensive than the UKPK.
We are working on ways of making more slippies and less expensive slippies.

Sal, thanks for taking the time to give us an update. The Urban will remain on my wish list regardless of the cost.
Sal, important question for me:
Are the blades interchangeable between the wharnie and leaf versions? I really want an orange Urban with a leaf blade. I'm hoping someone will want a green-wharnie and thus I can buy an orange-wharnie, they a green-leaf, and we can swap blades to both get what we want!

Interchangeable scales may be easier.;)

We're waiting as well. Don't have anything we can say for sure. Should be in the fall.
sal
Let's note that it's seven o'clock on a (USA) Sunday morning, and the head of Spyderco is exchanging emails with a (relatively) small bunch of potential customers thousands of miles away.
Let's just think about that.

I cant wait for the urban to come out, I love my UKPK and is one of my most used knives. the only downside is my expectations of the urban are now high I just hope the Urban is as great a knife as the UKPK.
Does anyone know what blade steels and hadle materials the urban will be available in as I really like the s30v.

Thanks for taking the time to respond Sal. I don't know of any other company, knife maker or not, who you can communicate so easily with the company owner. Respect.

if they made a pink one I can buy my girlfriend one, im fed up of her borrowing it when Im not looking and then abusing it. Must admit the knife has stood up to even my misses abusing it so is a good little tough knife.
