I'd add a Guycep or Shing fixed if we are at the lowest end of the est or one of their folders at the upper.

Doesn't hurt to ask!

:D

Lemony, can I ask you to act as 'raffle monitor' and coordinate this aspect, at least at the online level? I'll do the cash side if you don't want to.

:thanks:

I'm watching the sale forums for a small or large sebbie, there were a few for great prices last week. Or we could get a Mnandi or a Dominator. Lots of great folders for under £150. Maybe get a dominator and a BM as well, a 940 Osbourn is nice. I prefer a folder, easier to carry around and use.

List what you reckon you can get Shing and the kids can vote. I think there will be some demand for one of your own, but please say if that would make you uncomfortable.

There's lots in the price range Wayne, assuming we have over £100. Every Scandi maker for example. There are not many production folders much over that either.

:approve:

A list is growing, which is good. I reckon the list needs to close before the end of October so as we can get voted and purchased and etched and packed in a mighty fine box.

Love to supply one of my folders but I won't be embrassed if people want something else. I thought of doing a Damascus, Stainless bolsters and ironwood one.

I'm in a fixed blade mood at the moment. I may complicate things too much but if there are loads going why not have two knives that cost less sif these are suggested (don't have to be quite the same). If this is a bad idea tell me and I'll shut up and just enjoy the day out

If people want, I'd be more than happy to create a blade as a raffle prize, so long as I get enough warning to get it done with a hectic working life!
I do have this still awaiting a good home...

That's a truly wonderful offer and thanks very much!!! :biggthump

As time is obviously pressing if we want a Custom :yikes: , I'd propose (and please shout up if this leaves things too late gents!) to gather together all the kind offers and suggestions for a poll starting, say 1st thing Sat. 23/11 morning and running until the following Fri. 29/11 night. Leaving appx. 5 weeks to sort.
We'll see how the numbers (budget) go and suggestions (Custom/Production - Fixed/Folder) stand and go for a straight vote.
Any required casting vote by a responsible non participant....so that'll be no-one then :D

Hi folks

I like the idea of a handmade from an attending member but you lot are going to decide.

;)

Any makers can PM or email me with how much they would charge the EMCCU for a raffle knife. I will keep it completely confidential, but we will post the market value of that knife as set by the maker.

The money to spend comes down to how many people attend, it's that simple.

:thanks:

that wharncliffe by Guycep is one hell of a sexy knife! heu shing is their a prototype of your folder ready that we can see?

Not for a couple of weeks, the prototype will use a lot of custom made parts like a phosphor bronze bushing and special screws and I have to make the tooling before I can make the actual parts. I want to make this the best non locking knife at this price so I've taken some technical elements from my Sebbie and use them in the folder. Its the only non-locking folder I know that its put together with screws instead of rivets so I can tune it to very tight tolerances. My aim is to make a non-locking folder that people will compare favourably to a Sebbie in terms of construction and execution.
