I aquired this recently. Can any one tell me the model and rough idea when it was made. All I can tell you is that it is a laminated blade Brusletto.

Its a shame the ricasso has been ground away.

Thanks.
Paul.

It looks like the Bamsen with a custom handle. It looks kinda old? :)

Thanks for the reply Andy.
It does look old. it has the older Brusletto/Gielo stamp with the star in the middle. The blade has a distal taper as well. I half expected to have to take the handle apart as it was very loose. A good soak in leather grease and its now very tight. It should be very nice when restored.

The handle looks 99% Finnish. Even the sheath has Finnish influence in it.
South west/west coast influence... Maybe the custom maker was Finnish or from "Finnmark" in Norway. Finns dont like ricassos so that might be the reason why it was ground away...

The engraving in the sheath says "Norge" so i doubt it is finnish, i have seene a knife very much like that, but i cant say where i saw it.
It looks like the handle is made of Aluminium (bolsters) birch bark, leather, and bone.

Dont know when it is made, or if it is handmade or factory made

Bushman uk: the blades name without a handle is Halling. It's a pretty big blade IMO and a tad too big. :biggthump
