How-to-make-a-sig tutorial?
Please read the FORUM RULES (http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?t=710) before making a sig.
Here is my short version: Go to deviantart.com (http://www.deviantart.com) or Digital Blasphemy (http://www.digitalblasphemy.com), find a cool image. (like a wallpaper) Open that image up in your paint editor. Crop it down to the size you want your sig to be, like a normal sig would be 500x80 or something. If need be, resize the image prior to cropping, to get the image parts you want inside. Add some text, it gives it a more personal attribute. Add a black/white 1px border, they always look good on signatures, and provides a separating between the post area and the sig itself. Here is my explanation on how to get the image in your signature at AS: Upload the signature to the web. If you have a webhost, just upload the signature somewhere on your server, through FTP or whatever. If you don't, then use Deviantart.com (http://www.deviantart.com/). Little info on Deviantart, it's probably one of the coolest largest art sites around. They allow free accounts and as much uploading of images as you want, maintained in high quality. Just register at the site, then click on "My Deviations," and then submit your picture. Once you have done that, get the URL of the image. Copy it using CTRL+C (keyboard command) Go into your Animesytem.com profile page (located in Usercp), and in the signature field, enter: code:[*img]http://www.path-to-my-image[/img]
WITHOUT the asterisk of-course. The asterisk exists because vB2 is dumb and doesn't know the difference from an empty IMG tag to one that has an image in it. path-to-my-image should be the URL you copied, which you can paste using CTRL+V. Hit submit on the bottom of the page, and now your image should be up! If you get signature errors, your signature was too large, or you went over the "line" limit for your signature.Guide to the best imaging programs
It's wise to get a good image editor, and not subject yourself to using crappy windows paint. There are some great ones out there, but a price to pay could exist.
