I've had several, normally gifted by well meaning friends and family..and gifted onwards quite quickly!

They try to be a jack of all but don't really cut it (pardon the pun) in any respect IMHO!

A reason for me to stop trying then! Cheers

They're army issued in Denmark. According to a good friend of mine they're not good for anything but breaking windows and opening ammo-boxes...

I had one, it's a crowbar first, knife second.
More like a bayonet, not really any use so I sold it pretty quickly.

The one i have, is slightly different, its green plastic and does'nt have the saw back blade. I don't realy have a use for it, so if you want it fluffy, let me know.

Aye they come in a plain spine version and in green and also a sand colour IIRC.

I'm not always here, honest!
I'll Pm you for it, ta.
(what can I try it against? The Mule perhaps? Or some sad quasi military stuff I bought very cheaply from the bay some time ago? Pre BB)

I might let you have a look at it, if you're good. Or if you let me have a look at your Mule.

I'm a bit tired today - is it me, or does that just sound rude?

Resurrection time!

Ian dropped this off and I was going to do a bit of a test against a few other toys.
They all failed the "My Gawd, this is blunt" test though, so instead of blunting them off I thought I'd like to sharpen this one up instead.

... took me a while and there was a bit of steel loss so I probably owe Dogman a new knife because this one is decidedly thinner at the edge than it was.
I pinched an idea from The General, holding a very abrasive lump against the rod in the sharpmaker and finally managed to get te edge down to a usable 40 degrees from the Sixty it came with. Next time I'll buy a belt grinder.
Tough metal. Cuts nicely now.

Mine departed as a gift to an friend when I left Zimbabwe. They are sharp prybars, the hilt can open bottles. I used it for throwing and general camping. Since I have SOG throwers and some many camp knives I have not replaced the G81.

I had one whilst in QA's some years ago, sold it by a local gunsmith.
Had to get the local mechanic to put it on his abrasive wheel to get an edge:mad:, awful thing to sharpen either at home or in the field. Saw complete rubbish
This soon rusted despite taking care of it:mad:
Gifted it to a colleague on leaving, not very good except for impressing gullible junior new recruitsand upsetting the CO, he didn't like nurses with knives:D
Would never buy one again
Take care
Graham

I'm still looking for the 'Glock' knife I used a few years ago if anone knows which one I mean. It looked like a Glock Field knife except the handle was silver and it was actually very sharp and stayed that way after my fooling around it with for a day. The guy who lent it to me said it was made by another German manufacturer but I forget which one. Any idea?

Used it to dig holes and other forms of abuse, great for impressing youngsters though, looked the part ;)
No good as a knife, just not sharp enough
used a 1st gen delica for cutting jobs
Gave all my kit to a mate when I left
Take care
Graham
