I am getting someone to make me some stock removed blades in RWL 34 steel. They are filet blades and will be 2 mm thick.

here is the questions.

I am getting the steel from Damasteel, would they be the best to HT it for me or do you know of anyone else who could do it?

What should i ask the Rc to be? They need to be flexible.

Secondly, seeing as they are filet knives what sort of grind should i have and how complete should the grind and finish be before ht ing?

Thanks for you help.

If Damasteel is doing HT I would let them do it.
Rc could be something like ~54, then it's flexible but hard enough to keep edge.
Grind should be slight hollow or flat.

These are my opinions and my opinions only.

Thanks for the thought. Mr wood suggests the similar with an edge finished to at least 400 grit.
