I noticed on the Grohmann site that they have Boat knives with 50% off, I've always quite fancied one, anybody want to give me a quick review of one they own, are they worth getting?

Make sure that it's not a 'second' some of the knives they offer on the website are one's that have failed qc and they have no warranty, i have 3 Grohmann's & they're good solid knive's no problems with the one i've owned longest (about 5yr's)

I have a boatknife and think its a good little knife.
Having looked on the site it does appear that the 50% off is for factory seconds.

Quite an interesting design, i use one in the kitchen a fair bit and i like it but it does take a little getting used to.

I have one of their boat knives and although I do not use it very much it is a well done knife overall. Mine is the traditional sabre ground...sort of a slight hollow scandi I guess. The handle design is quite nice I think and if I gave it enough attention sharpening it up I think I would find it worked quite well.
The one of theirs that is on my list to have is a flat ground Camper...#1 Original flat ground in carbon.
