Are you buying a knife or a price?
If the former, a little more info on projected use would be most helpful.
You can get the Fallkniven PXL from Heinnies for £165:

I've had one for a week now, and it's the very best production folder ever made, in my humble opinion.

My old fella sent me some money for my birthday. Rather than squander it on stupid things like electricity bills and paying back credit cards I thought I'd spend the cash on something decent.

I really respect Danzo's opinion. He's bought more good folders than almost anyone I know.
Personally, if that was my budget, I'd stick to a simple working knife and wait around until someone needs to part with a particularly fine custom folder at a small fraction of its worth. You'll get more for your money and you'll provide liquidity to the seller in a time of crisis. And if your own finances take a turn for the worse, you'll be glad you waited.
If cost is the driving force more than use, I'll sell you a swiss army knife for £170. :D
shop4less doesnt hold stock
heinnies does
so they give instant gratification at a slightly extra cost ..

Thanks for the comment Dan. You also make a very good point about hanging around for a bargain custom folder. At least three of mine have arrived at Danzo Towers by that route.

I ain't the most experienced guy here by a long way but what about an EKA? Solid & sturdy, my old man brought me one home from the oil rigs when I was a boy and I was in awe of thing. I got a hankering for another so now I'm awaiting delivery from Heinnie of a Swede 82 folder with Bubinga scales :D . Their Nordic T8 looks good with it's checkered handle & broad blade. Sandvik 12c27 stainless steel is pretty good too, I believe. Try here: http://www.heinnie.com/25ju7a753302/Knives/EKA/c-1-92-134/ or here: http://www.moonrakerknives.co.uk/ekanordicf.htm
You could always spend the rest on wine, women & song or alternatively waste it. Even better, use it as a deposit for a canoe!
apart from my obvious choice of a Mini ritter I've kina taken a shine to this
Mcusta here (http://www.heinnie.com/product.asp?s=y3zst9750457&strParents=&CAT_ID=0&P_ID=2321&strPageHistory=search&numSearchStartRecord=13)

My favourite folders in that price range:
Small Classic Sebenza
Spyderco CF Military
Spyderco Sage
Usage does bias.
For a very fine pocketful for the suit: William Henry, perhaps
For an outdoor life: Lone Wolf Hershey T3?
For largely fishing probably not what would suit more bushcraft.
I like my large sebenza but the scales are extra thick and feel more comfortable to me.
Something modded by Pennillion if you are after mammoth scales ( wait until he puts something you like up for sale though, don't hassle the man )
For a wide range of hacking and slashing tasks at a very good price: Manix from Spyderco
et cetera ad infinitum

though I did manage to pick a couple up around that price it was a matter of waiting and being lucky in classifieds

Yeah, that Mcusta seems an ideal single folder. It has the elegance of a WH, the build quality of a CRK, the smoothness of a benchmade and a whole lot of style and originality to cap it off.
Though for a similar price, if I didn't already have one, I would pick up a small classic Sebenza, a second hand user that I wouldn't fret about using for all jobs.

I find the Mcustas feel small in the hand where the small sebbie feels just right!
nothing if not subjective :D

I agree with that about Mcusta's feeling small in the hand. It's a brand I really want to like a lot, but I generally feel a bit let down when I handle one.
