I'm going to be in Helsinki next week, and I'm wondering if there are any good knife shops there! Or any museums with swords, armor etc.
Thanks,
Yes there are few palces to go, I think TML would be best to answer you in this matter.
One of the must places is Centre of town, oposit side of Helsinki catherdral, JT Palikko knives. I think his Father has a Art shop there and there is a knife display too. Beware that the prices are quite high, IMHO.
There are also few museums that might have some interesting material on them but I cant be sure since I havent been in those...

Thanks for the tip. Coming from America, with our very weak dollar, everything in Europe is expensive right now. Anyone been to the "Sea Fortress"?
Been there two years ago, my SHMBO's friends wedding, we had nice weather so it was a plesant trip.

The best one is propably Puukkopuoti (I like everything else but the prices) at Pohjoisranta 22 and as Juha said the one at Senaatti centre is not bad, Stockman's departmentstore is fairly good and for the practical stuff (Finnish point of view) Partioaitta and Lassin Retkiaitta which are both at or close to Forum mall.
There are various small stores that have puukkos from one or two makers but they are here and there and much more difficult to reach. Have fun anyway at the wet City.

Thanks for the tips. So far the weather is dry, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow. :) hyvaa paivaa
