Hi

Just a thought on what you guys would be wanting for Christmas.

Doesn't have to be a knife.

Personally, I would like a big wooden box to put them all in, or a Dremel.

Sorry, I know it is still November, but people are asking for ideas. 8)

That sounds great, I wonder if anyone will notice if I change part of the laboratory?

Sog Fatcat. I am drawn to it. Litle bit pricey though. I dont think i can get away with "This old thing honey, Had it ages, Bought from ebay for a fiver":D

:D Yeah I tried that a few times, including using the old "it's a pass around".

Fatcat. £350! and a 4.5" blade, it looks unusual with that 2-tone, very nice.

Oh dear, I used the "I won them in a comp" before, and I thought I was being so original, guess they saw right through it.

Just a note, it's not that I'm a compulsive liar, I just can't be bothered getting into an argument that I know won't be agreed on by either party involved!

I am all in favour of equal ops, Girlyfriend can have a wardrobe full of shoes and handbags "You never pay attention, I have had this radley/prada hand bag for ages" And i can have draws full of knives that i "Got cheap in a group buy/ebay bargain."
Its all a big game. Although i am pretty sure i will lose.:D

I've asked Santa for a set of ER32 collets with a 3MT ER32 collet holder.

I've looked them up just now, and I still don't know what they do!

Aah after wiki, I recognise them, but never used 'em.

I would like to have a set up for Nitre Blueing from Brownell's, using 1/4 tanks (12 inches or 30.5 cm). I would like to pretty up some of the Damascus I've been using - purchased. A forge and anvil would be nice also - I would like to do my own Damascus (OK pattern welded) so that means a 30 ton press and an airhammer would also be on the list. :D I think I have everthing else except a mill. I have a 2hp - 220 volt Bader with variable DC speed control with several wheels, platens and I like it a lot.

It's strange how much equipment (wife says it's junk) I've gathered or made over the years. Punches, presses, files, bandsaws, grinders with accessories, kiln, oils, drill bits - some carbide, taps, dies, flutes, hammers, (steels, brass, copper, pinstock, barstock, quench tanks, quench plates, Titanium annodizing equipment, electro - etching equipment, light box for making stencils along with the power supplies.................and so on. :yikes: :yikes: Good greif - that barely touches it. :nofeed: :banghead: :banghead:

WOW - it seems as if I buy or make a lot of equipment. Seems like no matter what you do, you will find yourself needing something. :yikes: The more you do - the more you grow as a knifemaker - the more tools (toys) you find yourself needing!!! :confused2 :6pack:

Want a G-Shock G-8000-3VER, a pair of Merrell Chameleon Stretch, a couple of pairs of merino socks and a Norrana Viking T-Shirt. (From Tamarack Outdoor's sale). That's my current wishlist. My realistic one. There's not enough bandwidth to list my other wishlist...

Thats what im hoping for....only drawback is that ill have to buy it for myself...as a present...a suprise present....how am i gonna get it in the house and under the tree without me seeing it....

not even bothering with a tree anyway....this year im using a large cactus in the corner and a small peyote for a change of pace....

So we're sorted then.
We buy our own presents and give them to our loved ones to give to us.
In the absence of persuadable loved ones we just buy them and call them "My Preciousssss"
Because we are broke from spending so much on BB type stuff heaven is a closing down sale in a toolshop.

I've got too much stuff on my wish list, I need a couple of Fallkniven folders a Roselli Carpenter and a few other sharp toys. Then there's the gun wish list...

Anyway, I know what SWMBO will get me for Christmas: perfume. That's what I always get, bloody perfume. I don't know if she's trying to tell me I stink and should shower more often or if she honestly believes I care about the damned stuff (I hate it, by the way). And the worst part is that she buys me expensive ones! That's good knife money wasted.
