View Full Version : A knife for a kill... er hog hunt

I made this knife for a guy that is going to Hawaii and during this trip he is to kill a feral pig in Hawaii with this knife. Its 15.5" oal, with a 9.5" blade 1/4" thick forged from a leaf spring.

I love it. Looks solid as hell. Peened pommels make me happy.

That's a lovely overall design. I like the finish on the blade too. What grit did you take it to ? Also, does the sharpenable edge run all the way back to the guard or is there a small choil between the edge and the guard ? I can't quite see from the photos.

Longstrider, its sharp untill just about 1/4" from the gaurd...... just sort of blends in though. I am unsure why I do this with most my knives.... This is the first knife that I have ever sold. I think I took it to worn out 800grit, with a liberal amount of light oil on the paper.

Danzo, he's canadian-we bash cute baby seals to death every season :) All kidding aside I am sure he is up to the job.

Difficult and emotional only if you don't like BBQ and and feel that feral hogs should be allowed to tear up your sugar cane field:D

Very nice knife, Has anyone seen that type of hunting before? Youtube has some clips, very brutal and one can get hurt easily. That's a sport for the ones who like to live on the edge, I'm not against it, its just not for me.
