As long as its legal to own here, no problems at all.

GreyJake - you might have problems getting anyone to ship a sword over here because of the shipping costs/problems.

I know that the knifecentre stopped shipping swords internationally some years ago because they had to go surface post in the end and lots went missing in the process.

Why would France be concerned if you shipped a sword from overseas?

:S

As the two boys in blue say there is no legal problem but it can cost a lot in airmail shipping and surface parcel mail takes a very long time and is unreliable.

When we were in Hong Kong my aunt in Denmark sent us a large round of the notoriously pungent Danish cheese called Havarti. She posted that surface mail. All the way from Denmark, across the Med, down through Suez, across the Arabian Sea, over the Indian Ocean and finally into the South China Sea.......in high summer.

:O

The postie delivered the cheese on a string at the end of a long stick. He was wearing a mask.

I get yew bowstaves shipped from Oregon by UPS. Usually takes about a week. I don't know if they will ship swords though - it most likely will be clasified as a weapon which is a "no no" to the UPS.

Cheese across the world is always a surprise.
I hope the gruyère cheese I'm going to bring for Kevin at the hammerin won't be sniffed by the dogs in Bristol airport

Danzo, these days that cheese would probably result in a visit from Hans Blix.

It was really, really funny Dan. We lived out at Pak Sha Wan, above the Hebe Haven Marina and we used to get really good postal service, (probably because we were all Gwei Los....... ) but the post used to arrive on a truck. This time the truck had the cheese on the string hanging out the back and all the little kids from PSK running after the truck and holding their noses!
