A throwaway line in amongst all the yob culture and binge drinking stuff to the effect legeslation was on the way to ban carrying knives in public places.
Anyone know of any firm proposals or is it just a bit of good old journalistic hype?

Ooh! that was post 888 for me, must be a very lucky one somehow from what my friends in Hong Kong tell me!
Indeed, about as lucky as you can get!
:D
Dunno about the law stuff David, I'll check it up. Thanks for the heads up.

Yep, but that makes them shedloads of tax!
They mentioned it on the radio during the 6 o'clock news and also on the TV earlier. As you say, it's a "throw away line" in the middle of banning "hoodies" and baseball caps in shopping centres.

PM did mention it specifically in todays Questions
In response to a Question from Andrew Marr
where he was talking about what he calls "yobbish" behaviour and disrespect
I am happy to go back and look at further measures, on binge drinking, on antisocial behaviour, on the issue to do with carrying knives, on graffiti, vandalism, every single aspect of this.
not getting all political
I think the measure of the speech was, "if it is seen as a problem then we will have another look at it if needed"

Ta,
Must have been what I heard the secondhand reporting of.
