Foreword

Before I start this, I just want to state that this is obviously all tongue-in-cheek fiction and shouldn't be taken seriously by anybody at all. All the photos used have been taken by me and with all characters in the story are members of my family and any semblance to anybody else, alive or dead, is merely incidental. I think that's all the legal mumbo-jumbo that I need to state, but if anybody knows of something I've missed please let me know.

Dear Diary,
The End of the World is Nigh! Well that's if you believe the maniacs and crazies! I'd better explain; Today is the final day of the Mayan calendar started 5000 years ago. Obviously all the wierdo's have crawled out of the woodwork and there have been claims that we will die from everything ranging from floods, nuclear war and plague through to all life being obliterated by an asteroid hitting the earth. Mind you the human race seems to be pretty good at surviving impending doom by now - we made it through the Y2K thing and that American preacher, Harold Camping, has so far predicted the end of the world not once but twice!

Personally I'm planning in going out with style - out to a massive party with my friends later! Surprisingly it's called The End of the World Party! Sounds like a blast!
