Good Morning, I'm going to be having a go at making a knife. Ill be using and old file for my first couple to hope to progress onto some 440 as I get into it. I'm a time served mechanical engineer by trade (although moved into management years ago so I'm a little rusty!) so I do have half an idea....

    Simple carbon steel?

    Thread Starter: mikew

I'm looking for a very simple carbon steel. I want something that will sharpen very easily and take the finest edge possible. No need for high levels of wear resistance or toughness. Ideally available in excess of 6mm thick bars. Any ideas?

    Thread Starter: Hexagrapher

Hello folks, After looking forward to it all week, I didn't get out today so no stoving. So I thought that it would maybe get some fresh interest going in this topic again if we discussed our favourite stoves or cookset and, if possible, maybe showed a pic or two of them. I've no pictures at...

    Lidl curry stuff.

    Thread Starter: Nice65

Comes vac packed at 99p a pack. Choices were Dal Tadka, Aloo Sag, Paneer Butter Masala, and Chana Masala. Just neads heating, ingredients are all good. Hunk of bread, or some fried meat, and you have a simple, filling meal. I'm tempted to get some more, the dates run out August 2017.
