You could always take this one step further and and adapt it to mimic the Coleman double burner unleaded sove. The stove has similar side screen stays that are fixed to the screens themslevs and push through holes in the side of the case during use. When stowed they fold against the screen.

Would mean drilling your shiny new cooker though

    Cheers mate.

Is it coincidence that the RH Zagres box says BB on it?
They both have it on, I had Zarges make them for me.

Honestly, I dont know why. I have another which is identical except for the BB embossing.

The only problem is that the screen lies very flat against the lid when folded. It provides just a tiny bit of spring when the lid is closed, which clamps down when the catch is closed to snug everything up - no rattles. I cant see there being enough tolerance to accommodate the wire fixed directly to the wings.

    Ah...

I have to say I would struggle to take a drill to it just yet even if the mod would work! It's just too lovely!!

That first fry up will be painful to watch as the grease spatters merrily over the shiny ali!

What boxes do you have for your Vapalux? I have an aged Tilley which I would like to take camping with me more often but worry about it getting bashed..

The Vapalux boxes are Coleman hard carry cases. You have to mod em to make the Vapalux fit. There are 4 little plastic lugs in the base which need to be cut off with a stanley knife....

Once that's done, the Vapalux/Bialaddin will fit in the recess....

The lid is a bit of a squeeze height-wise, but it will go on with a bit of encouragement...

I wouldn't be without em now, especially if you cant have a fire.

    Martyn,

Very nice set-up. Coincidentally I'd been looking for a top-notch LPG double burner, thanks for pointing me in the direction of Partner Steel! Now I think I might need are Zarges box aswell What are the rough dimensions of your boxes?

    Series K470 - Model No. 40678 - Capacity 60Ltr - Weight 5kg - Internal Dimensions - 550 x 350 x 310 mm - External Dimensions - 600 x 400 x 340 mm - RRP £160

    Roughly.

They are 24" by 16" (by 12" high) approx and this particular size is designed to stack on a standard 4 foot pallet in a 2 x 3 arrangement of 6 boxes per layer. Four such layers (24 boxes) will give a 4' x 4' x 4' cube. I think all sizes of Zarges are designed to multiply out to fit a standard pallet. That makes life easy if you are trying to figure out what you need to fit in say a trailer or the back of a van or such. You can fit at least 12 of these boxes in the back of a Defender.

Ahhh, well at the moment I'm still using a really crappy french army tent, but I'm saving my pennies furiously for a decent tipi this year. Though it might be next year at this rate. I've my sights on a tentipi safir 7 or 9 cp. Great tent. I had a shufti inside one last year and was really taken by it. The kitchen should fit inside one without problems.

Yes they are a bit nice, always fancied one of them myself.I had a dark green Bell tent until this year.Lovely thing but in the warmer months it was so hot in it that between 9am and 9pm you could'nt bear it inside for more than a couple of minutes.I've gone the nylon tipi route with plenty of ventilation, the canvas bell tent was a sod to dry if it came home wet.

Yeah I can believe it. I'm going the other way, I used to have a brown nylon tentipi (aran 5) and wasn't keen on it (mostly the colour). Couldn't fault the ventilation though.

"How to win friends" by Axle.

The idea is to use the back of a defender 90 (4'6" by 3'6" by 3' high) to carry the best selection of kit that you can, to allow you to live as comfortably as possible, while being "off the grid" for as long as possible, in places too difficult for you to get to on your motorbike, let alone a caravan.
