    mora classic #3 mod

    Hi all,
couple of pics of the mora that iv'e put a new handle on didn't feel safe with the old handle as the blade hangs past the so-sharp blade. block of mahogany shaped loosely on the 711. Blade etched in a salt bath+12v current, edge protected by nail varnish ( not mine ).
pleased how it turned out and now will get some use.
    Thanks for looking.

Very well made! Aesthetically the butt doesn't work for me, but I love the fore-end and the blade treatment What have you done with the sheath?

    Thanks for your comments guys:
parbajtor: yes bolster and butt is aluminium i just love how light these knives are and wanted to keep it that way
Basemetal: yes i agree about the butt not working, however once in the hand it feels right,
Knife wont fit original sheath now so will have to make another one.

That's a very well made and useable looking knife with proper workmanship.

The butt is a bit small for my taste, too, but then it has to fit the users hand.

Like the blade etching idea and the use of aluminium in the bolster and butt. It keeps the lightweight intention of the original knife and is very appealing in conjunction with the wood used. Very well done, mate

    Really nice job

    Specially likes the blade etching.
Can it be done with any blade material, or does ir require special steel ?
